You’ve chosen your college and have received notifications for new student orientation. While some colleges make the experience mandatory, many give you the option whether you choose to attend. If you can, ATTEND. I state it many times, but it’s true – you are making an investment and you want to make sure that you are receiving all the information you need in a timely fashion.

During orientation, you will have the opportunity to:

  • sign up for courses
  • connect with student leaders who can answer your question
  • learn about various office functions and where they are located
  • meet fellow students
  • get a copy of your id
  • and much more!

Studies have shown that students who attend orientation are more prepared on the first day of class. And you definitely want any additional assistance that will help you in preparing for your first year. Congrats and have a great time!
